Digitalization as a design tool
Reduce time to market by closed loop development
Agesia has a working digital twin
Based on what you want to achieve, we come up with a draft for a solution or initial 3D design. After discussing our solution with you, the design is converted into a large number of elements that are then subjected to calculations. These calculations provide information about how the design as a whole will perform (Finite Element Calculation). This may lead to adjustments in the design. Then we develop a coupon (panel) that we subject to testing. This way we determine its properties that we put into the finite element analysis. Thereafter, we produce a panel at true scale that we test again, as upscaling often affects how the material behaves. Again, we put the properties into the Finite Element Analysis. Then we build your prototype and test it at full scale, mostly static.
In the second loop we subject the product to endurance (lifespan) testing for which we simulate real life circumstances. Our testbench is specifically programmed for this purpose. We wire the prototype with optical fibres (sensors) to capture data of its behaviour in nature, often using 250.000 cycles or, when it concerns picking up and lowering the prototype, 20,000 movements. The data is again used to update the Finite Element Analysis. In the end we have a reliable digital twin which provides us with detailed information with which we save significant time or achieve efficiency gains in the design and production process.
COST EFFECTIVE ENGINEERING
VALIDATION & TESTING
3P & 4P testbench: coupon testing
A coupon of the prototype rests on 2 static rollers. A gun with 1 or 2 rollers presses on the top of the product. Based on the combination of these 3 or 4 pressure points, we can distil the properties of the coupon. The data is used to update the Finite Element Analysis.
Large SCALE TESTing
To collect more accurate data, we perform the test on a larger scale, after which the data is tested against the Finite Element Analysis which can be adjusted where necessary.
FULL SCALE TESTBENCH 5 Actuators 25 tons @ 2 HZ
To collect even more accurate data, we repeat the test with a larger panel at full scale. The test at full scale leads to validation and IEC certification.
Online Data captation with optical fibers
The prototype is outfitted with various sensors related to vital areas of functionality. These sensors produce data about different aspects of performance that is again used to update the Finite Element Analysis.
